Friendship United Methodist Church
Home Introduction Church History
1941:
On April 20, 1941, Miss Miriam Wood unveiled a tablet dedicated to the founders of the church and the Revolutionary War soldiers who were buried in the church-yard. Exercises were conducted by the Kate Aylesford Chapter, D.A.R. of Hammonton. Miss Wood is a great-great-granddaughter of William Ackley, one of the founders of Friendship.

Note: The interior and exterior of the church have been kept in excellent condition through the years, having been reroofed, repainted, repapered, recarpeted and window shades replaced; all to preserve the original beauty of the sanctuary.

1942:
The horse sheds which were so significant during horse and buggy days were torn down about 1942. The woodshed and tool house were also torn down about 1946 and the pump house was given away recently.
